Keeping Cockroaches Out

This is probably not what you want to hear, but I’m going to tell you anyway. If you have cockroaches living under your roof, you’ve probably invited them in.

You have cockroaches living under your roof because one way or the other, and probably without knowing, you have provided a cool and safe place for them to live. Cockroaches are always on the move, looking for a comfortable place to stay. So if the path they travel runs through your house, there has to be good reason for it.

Here is the good news though: there are many ways for you to cut down this road traffic. The most important thing you can do is block the access to your house. Make sure there are no piles of leaves or lose trash nearby. Roaches love to get into wet damp areas where they can hide from the sunlight. They hate daylight!

These wet and damp areas are breeding grounds for roaches and you don’t want them anywhere near your house. Look for cracks in your foundation near the ground. Those cracks could lead up to the interior of your walls.

The inside of your house is just as important. If you have a lot of debris, piles of magazines, newspapers, or books, you are creating an ideal environment for the creeps you want to get rid of. And most important: keep your kitchen clean and dry. Keeping things clean, tidy end organized is a very effective way for killing cockroaches.
